The best Korean and Chinese players will face each other to determine who is strongest. The price pool is $45.000 and the tournament will include different formats and 7 play days!

World Cyber Arena has announced one of the biggest tournament in Warcraft 3 for 2016. The tournament will start at the end of July to mid August and with a swooping price pool of $45,000. A whole month with 7 play days and high quality Warcraft 3.

The event will be offline and hosted in  Beijing/Shanghai, China.

This nation wars is a lot of different than previous seen. The format for this tournament is somewhat different and we will do our best to explain the format:

  • 10 players will be participating and divided into two groups. 5 players from  China and 5 players from Korea.
  • Teams will battle on seven play days throughout 4 weeks.
  • Each match will grant points - the team with most points after the whole clan war wins.

Each week we will be seeing a different format, which you will realise:

Week 1 (23 - 24 July)

Playday 1 and 2 will be a standard clan wars format between Korea and China.

  • The format is 3x 1vs1 and 1x 2vs2.
  • Best-of-3

The point system for week 1:

For 1on1:

  • A 2:0 victory will grant the winner 3 points - the loser 0 points.
  • A 2:1 victory will grant the winner 2 points - the loser 1 point.

For 2on2:

  • A 2:0 victory will grant the winner 5 points - the loser 0 points.
  • A 2:1 victory will grant the winner 4 points - the loser 2 points.

As you can see the 2on2 matches are valued a lot higher than the 1on1's and it will be interesting to see, how each nation will arrange the teams.

Week 2 (31. July)

Playday 3 will be a standard match, where the two captains will play a best of 5 series to determine the winner.

This means a show match between  LawLiet and  Infi.

  • 1on1 between the two team captains
  • Best-of-5

Point system for week 2:

  • Winning 3:0 grants 7 points, the loser 0 points
  • Winning 3:1 grants 7 points, the loser 2 points
  • Winning 3:2 grants 7 points, the loser 4 points

Week 3 (6 - 7. August)

Playday 4 and 5, we continue with a standard clan wars format with 2x 1on1 and 2x 2on2 matches.

  • 2x 1on1 and 2x 2on2
  • Best-of-3

Point system for week 3:

For 1on1:

  • 2:0 victory grants the winner 3 points, the loser 0 points
  • 2:1 victory grants the winner 2 points, the loser 1 points

For 2on2:

  • 2:0 victory grants the winners 5 points, the loser 0 points
  • 2:1 victory grants the winners 4 points, the loser 2 points

As noted here - the 2on2 matches will be valued a lot higher than the 1on1s.

Week 4 (13 - 14. August)

Playday 6 and 7 is the last week and will be a classic King-of-the-Hill style clan wars, where the winning team is granted 10 points.

  • Winning the clan war grants the winner 10 points and the loser 0 points.

Players:

China Korea
 Infi LawLiet
TH000 Lyn
Fly100% FoCuS
120 ReMinD
Life Check

The tournament will be about the points and especially the 2on2 matches are emphasised in this tournament which is extremely refreshing to see. The team with the most points will be declared the winner of the tournament.

I also prefer Yumiko or th000.But in clan wars - it is not good to have almost one race for whole the team.(I mean 3 humans- it is easier to train by the koreans

but on the other hand it isnt, china doesnt even need infi nor th000 nor life nor fly, 120 alone is enough to take care of entire korean team, one guy who can beat him (reprisal) and he isnt even playing so 120 > korea

45.000$... Heh, I'm confused. Is that $45,000 as in forty-five thousand dollars? Not so sure because dollar currencies usually use "," as separators for whole numbers where "." is used for decimals.

also there is a point in 2x2 matches which seems to be very important with a lots of points.Lawliet and Focus are very good team.Fly and zhou Xixi are also very good 2x2 orc/ne players, but the acrobat is not taking part in this tournament :(

th000 vs lawliet 3:0 in 40 minutes.Wtf?!?! The man who decide to became a HOTS pro suddenly crushed the best night elf in the world like a toy.................. Lawliet is really super good, Im constantly watching his stream and he is flawless, only the high ping prevents him from getting gera cup every time.... I really cant understand this, yes it is a surprise but...
