Hey guys, just a thought, but I believe many would agree with me:
First of all, I truly appreciate all of the effort trying to bring WC3 back to the big scene. However, the effort would be useless to the larger part of the community if there is no way for them to see replays/vods of the games played. If you want to look at it philosophically, try to answer this: "If a tree falls in the forest with no ears to hear does it make a sound?"
In other words, while earning some additional cash might be awesome for the participants (note that the same circle of 6-7 players wins 99% of the prize money all the time), it is completely useless and it's almost as if it has never happened as far as the rest of the community is concerned, unless there is some way for them to see what happened. Recordings, vods, and above all - replays, are the best way for this to happen.
Why I say replays are the best? Because in many cases with records or vods you are confined to what the caster sees. You might be much more interested in the timing of something completely different happening, which the caster decided wasn't of importance. Additionally, it is much easier to obtain replays of the games than to make recordings.
Having all of the above said, I would propose a very simple solution - replays of all games need to be uploaded *somewhere*. It could be this site, it could be the site of the tournament (if it possess such functionality, of course), and it is not necessary that it is all of the games. Those could be just the games from the 1/4 finals onwards, for example, i.e. the games everyone would be interested in. It would be extremely easy for the players to do that, and it is not necessary for them to do that straightaway. They could just set up the auto-save replays option, and they'd already have the whole pack ready in their replays folder.
All this is just my thoughts, obviously, but I feel like a lot of people share them.
