It was almost a year ago when team Korea won the offline final of the Starswar5 Reborn pretty much uncontested.
And a few days ago it was announced that the Starswar will return for the 6th time as "Gigabyte StarsWar6 Killer".

In the announcement they mentioned that, like the previous year, there will be a Chinese, Korean and European qualifier. No dates were given for the Korean and European ones yet but the Chinese qualifier is scheduled to start at the 18th of March and will end at the 16th of April.

The Chinese qualifiers will consist of 32 players divided into 8 groups from which the top 2 will advance. The groups are played as if they are a mini double elimination bracket.
The surviving 16 will play in a full double elimination bracket.
How many will advance to the grand final I am not sure, but if it is the same as last year it will be the top 4.

Groups:

Group results: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H.

With the groupfase completed last Monday it is time for the second leg of the Chinese StarsWar qualifier, the knockout fase. How the players that advanced actually made it can be seen above

Details for the Korean/European qualifiers have just been released by gosugamers.

It seems that instead of two separate qualifiers there will be only one for both regions.

The qualifier will consist of two parts, the first part will consist of 64 players accepted based on email applications who will get divided into 8 groups. The winner of each group will meet 8 more players who were seeded directly into the second part of the qualifier, a double elimination bracket.
Only the champion will be flown out to Shanghai to represent the world "team".

The full newspost and details about how to apply can be found here: Gosugamers.
